Yoga Asana

“Prior to everything, asana (seat or postures) is spoken of as the first part of hatha yoga. Having done asana one gets steadiness (firmness) of the body and mind; diseaselessness and lightness (flexibility) of the limbs.”

Introduction to Jivamukti

Jivamukti is a Sanskrit word that means "liberation while living." It is derived from "Jiva" – the individual soul or living being and "Mukti" – liberation or spiritual freedom.

This workshop will dive into the foundations of Jivamukti incorporating the five tenants: shastra (scripture), bhakti (devotion), ahimsa (non-violence), nada (sound), and dhyana (meditation), blending classical yoga teachings with their relevance to life both on and off the mat.

With a focus on inversions, this practice invites you to lead with your heart - shift your perspective and build confidence, both on the mat and in life. This dynamic and spiritually grounded experience weaves together a vigorous vinyasa-based yoga, uplifting music, hands-on assists, chanting, meditation, and deep philosophical teachings rooted in compassion and activism. The practice challenges both body and mind, encouraging personal transformation and a deeper connection to the world around you. Expect to leave feeling energized, inspired, and aligned to your inner truth – moving through life with greater lightness and intention.
